Happy New Year!

As we begin 2019, it is very satisfying to look back and see all that we have accomplished in the past year. The HVAC and lighting project at our Main Street location is complete, along with our new adult reference desk, computer area and magazine room, including a cozy fireplace! We are also very excited about the second floor of the Station Branch. The community’s use of our library, along with our own demand for program space, is always increasing. Because of this, we strive to make whatever improvements we can to enhance our buildings. I thank you all for your continued patience during our ongoing construction.

I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of our Friends of the Library and the Huntington Library Foundation. These two groups of community volunteers dedicate their time and service to helping the library fulfill its mission of serving the needs and interests of the community. They do this by raising money to support new and innovative programs, as well as helping to sustain ongoing services. We are very appreciative for their help and generous donations to the library. As we begin this new year, we will continue to make our library a warm and inviting place for our patrons.

If I can be of help to you in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at 631-427-5165, ext. 206 or by email: . I wish you all a very Happy and Healthy New Year!

Second Annual Winter Reading Challenge!

This year, our library is participating in joining other libraries nationwide. We challenge families to read at least 10,000 minutes during the month of January and track those minutes on Libraries will encourage their communities to read at least 10 minutes a day to help us meet our goal of 10,000 minutes for the month of January. Mark Cuban will donate $35,000 to top participating libraries if all participating libraries reach a designated collective goal.

  • Read 60 minutes per week for a chance to spin our new prize wheel, one spin per week per child.
  • If we reach our goal, we will celebrate with an Ice Cream Party on Saturday, February 9 at 2 pm.
  • Registration is ongoing at
