New York State Education Department recently awarded the Huntington Public Library $77,500 in construction aid for our recent HVAC and LED lighting project. We also received another $20,000 in New York State Bullet Aid which we plan to use toward new technology for the library. We thank Supervisor Chad Lupinacci, Assemblyman Steve Stern and Senator Carl Marcellino for all they did to help us secure these grants and for keeping this aid in the New York State budget for libraries.
The next project at our Main location will be the magazine room. We ask for your patience while we renovate this area and temporarily relocate the magazines and new books. We are working towards making this a more comfortable and inviting area.
We're also continuing to update the Station Branch as we make good use of the second floor and reconfigure some areas on the first floor.
Our newly formed Foundation is having a reception to showcase some of the projects they have funded for the library. This is an open invitation to all who are interested in seeing what has been done and hearing more about the Foundation. See information on this page for details - all are welcome to join us!
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and a Happy Holiday Season!
