Presenter Christopher J. Cloonan has a Master's Degree in Cuban Studies. He walks us through the complicated history between the U.S. and Cuba, from the Spanish-American War to the Cuban Missile Crisis and Bay of Pigs to President Obama's Cuban Thaw and President Trump's reversal of that policy. He discusses how and why Cuba functions under its own brand of socialism, the impact of the American embargo, and the importance of continuing to engage with our neighbor just 90 miles from our coastline. Registration required. Open to all.
