This twice weekly Tai Chi class is led by a certified instructor from the Suffolk County Department of Health Services. Tai Chi practice helps older adults improve their balance and increase their confidence. Self-initiated movements include body weight shifting, unilateral weight bearing, trunk rotation, ankle sways, and coordinated eye-head-hand movements. Limited to patrons 60 years and older. Fitness classes require participants to sign a waiver on the first day. Registration begins March 2 for HPL cardholders. If space permits, exercise classes will open to out-of-district residents two days before start date. Limited to patrons 60 years and older.
